Winter Window Reflection

Originally it seemed like a mistake to have the two images above touching.

But then you look at it for a hot second, and wow. Of course they should intersect like that.

Engagement: Joanna and David

I'm sorry, does it get classier than this?

I met Joanna through All Angels Church just over a year ago. She is a delight. So of course I was *so* excited to photograph engagement photos for her and her fiancĂ©, David.

We started in the sanctuary, where David fell in love with Joanna.
Right there, where they're sitting.
(There's some disagreement who was on the left and who was on the right - just go with it.)

From there, we went outside, to the sidewalk right next to the entrance -

where David had proposed a few short weeks ago!

No shoot is complete without some middle-of-the-avenue shots, of course...

Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple :)

Cheers!

Riverside Research

Hello adorable keys.

I was scoping out an engagement shoot in Riverside Park this weekend, and
just had to share my research.

Just insert adorable couple here :) Stay tuned for the engagement shoot itself in a few weeks!

Ok, ok, I won't ask them to climb trees. If you look closely, you can see who's already in the tree, posing for me. The tree bark below reminds me of the detail in a Chuck Close drawing (see here).

Orange Abstraction

Perhaps strangely, these are my favorites from my architecture and light series so far.
I know, I've published a dozen or more in this series already - but these have a quiet but kind of sparkling depth to them. I don't know.

Love 'em.

Cheers!

Fire in Air

A continued lighting and architectural study of All Angels Church in New York City.

If there's something better than a bright blue stripe
zipping through a sea of yellow undertones,
well,
I'll believe it when I see it.

See the first series at All Angels' here: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9

Preview: painting in progress (abstract no 6)

Nope, that's the photograph. :)
I like this one so much, though, that I've started a painting:

All Angels Cafe Night

I had the pleasure of shooting a recent gallery opening and show at All Angels a few weeks ago, with Gutter Sparrow (above) opening for Welcome Wagon (finale below).

This is what he sounded like.

Great space, great turnout. Until next show!
